Coastal works

Along this coast, from Buitan to Candidasa, a new promenade and a replenished sand beach are being built (a government coastal project funded by JICA). No official completion date has been announced for this stretch; according to Indonesia's state broadcaster RRI, the project as a whole is expected to run until 2028. Until the work here is finished, the beach cannot be reached in many places and there may be construction noise. Once it is finished, we will check this property's position again.

What we saw checked on satellite imagery, 05-10-2026

The plot runs from the road down to the beach. An infinity pool with only its own edge at the water, nothing public in between.

Ganesh Beach Hotel is a hotel in Candidasa. This is a sea-edge property, but without a sand beach. The edge here is pebbles and gravel, not sand. The coast looks out over the strait, with Nusa Penida on the far side. From the shore in front, the sun sets over the sea in December; the rest of the year it goes down behind the land.
