Who we are
Bali Seaside is an independent website about hotels, resorts and villas on Bali that lie directly by the sea, and is not affiliated with any hotel or hotel chain. For every property we check on satellite imagery how it sits by the sea, and we verify the facilities on the property’s own website, where it has one. The site is available in eight languages.
Bali Seaside is not a booking site or a travel agency. Bookings are made on the booking sites the site links to; Bali Seaside itself does not process bookings or payments.

What we measure
We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive and what they click on. This helps us improve the site. The data goes to Google. If you visit the site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics places no cookies. Elsewhere it does; this lets Google Analytics recognise a later visit from the same device.
We also use Microsoft Clarity. It shows how visitors use a page: where they click, how far they scroll and where they get stuck. On our site, Clarity places no cookies and uses no advertising ID. What you type into a form field is not sent to Clarity. The data goes to Microsoft. How Microsoft handles it is explained in Microsoft’s privacy statement.
We may also advertise through Google Ads. For this, there is a Google tag on the site. It measures which ads bring in visitors, and it lets Google show Bali Seaside ads to earlier visitors later on.
Don’t want this?
- You can block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on.
- You can turn off personalised ads in Google’s ad settings.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.
What else is stored in your browser
- A few choices you make: light or dark, the currency, your travel dates and the type of accommodation. These stay on your device and never reach us.
- One technical session cookie that the site needs in order to work.
Clicking through to a booking site
If you click through to a booking site, we pass on your travel dates, the number of guests and the chosen currency, so that you see the right price there straight away. That site’s own terms and privacy statement apply there. If you book something there, Bali Seaside may receive a commission. We do not see your name or booking details.
If you email us
We keep your message and email address for as long as needed to reply. We do not use your address for anything else.
Log files
The server records which pages are requested, with the time, IP address and browser. This is needed to spot outages and misuse.
