Beachfront. Many coastal hotels on Bali put it in the brochure. We went and looked at what actually lies between the grounds and the water. Sometimes nothing. Sometimes a road, a wall or a rock — and then we say so.

Seafront hotels in Bali, by coast

Bali does not have one coast but about ten coastal areas, each with its own character: different sand, different surf, different prices. Light and white sand is found mainly in the south and on the Nusa islands, dark and black sand in the north and west, pebbles and rock in the east. On the west coast the sun sets over the sea; on the east coast it rises out of it. Pick a coast below; we measured all 263 properties ourselves.
