Ulun Danu Bratan is a large water temple in Bali, Indonesia - the main temple and other water temple to be unity of Pura Ulun Danu Batur. This temple complex is located on the northwest edge of Lake Bratan in the mountainous highlands of Bali Bedugul. This temple was used for ceremonial offerings to Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, lakes and rivers. The complex was built in 1633, spread in some places. Meru, with eleven roofs dedicated to Shiva and his wife Parvati. Buddhism also has a place in the temple of the Hindu God.
Lake Bratan known as the lake "sacred mountain", the area is very fertile, situated at an altitude of 1,200 meters, and the climate is very cold. Lake Bratan is one of the important lake in terms of irrigation which are specific to each traditional Bali system of irrigation associations (called "Subak").
Lake Bratan located in upland areas Bedugul Bali around 50 km from Denpasar to the north with a focus on Lake Bratan, Lake Buyan and Tamblingan. This distance is about 60 km from the beach cheap hotel in Legian Kuta Bali. If you want to go to Pura Tanah Lot, Bali, takes about 1.5 hours from Lake Bratan. At Bedugul highlands, there are several other temples such as the Yellow Temple, Pancasari, Pacung and Wanagiri. Surrounded by Mount Catur, Mountain Pohon, Mount Batukaru and Mount Lesong .
