Balangan Bali beach is situated in the Bukit area of the Uluwatu region. On your way there, you pass by the famous Garuda Wisnu Kencana building and statue which stands at more than 100 meters tall; so on your way to the beach, visit this architectural wonder, and catch a slice of Balinese culture. You just need to follow the signs, and you will shortly arrive at the Balngan beach parking lot (which is simply untouched nature, without spoiling the natural atmosphere). Comfortable black & white sandy beach At Balangan beach, you will find an amazing mixture of black and white sands, glistening in the sun. Many photographers adore the area as it displays a very interesting sight of sand with some little pools of water. From a distance, it is a very interesting view. You can come here with a rental car, but you could also fill your day with some adventure and rent a motorbike, and feel the fresh breeze in your hair on your way down to the beach. Late in the afternoon, it is a pleasure to just sit on the beach and watch those waves splashing, seeing a few people putting their surf skills at test here and there. There is also a very nice temple that you can visit, early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
One thing you have to keep in mind is, that to reach Balangan beach, you need to go down a few steep stairs. You just need to be careful not to carry to much luggage with you down to the beach. Balangan – the best playground You and your kids can indulge in collecting shells, building wonderful dams and dreamy sand castles, or simply watch the fish swimming in the pond. Literally out of a Hollywood movie
Padang Padang Beach Bali
Padang Padang is a wonderful slice of secluded paradise in the Uluwatu area. Actually, it is only half an hour away from famous Kuta beach, and from the Mia Villa resort, it will take you around an hour and a half. It is a mysterious little beach that stretches for 120 meters and in order to get to the beach you have to go through a passage between two higher cliffs. Why is the trip worth it?
Crystal clear azure waters
Silver white glittering sand
Beautiful cliff formations
Padang Padang is also recognized as a surfer’s Mecca, because the sea has some perfect waves. But if you don’t surf, then the water simply invites you for a good swim, and you can soak in the warm rays of the sun on the soft sand carpet on the beach all day long.

Julia Roberts Beach. Eat, Pray, Love… at Padang-padang beach
Have you seen Julia Robert’s latest movie? If yes, then it is time to know that many scenes in the movie were filmed at Padang Padang beach, in Bali. More specifically, the scene where she sips her coffee in the cafeteria, and the scene right at the end where she… well we don’t want to give you any spoilers now, do we. There was good reason why Padang Padang was chosen by the director of this movie, as it is the perfect spot to film romantic scenes. For those of you who haven’t seen the movie yet, it is high time you do, and admire the wonderful idyllic scenery only
Padang Padang Bali Beach can offer. You will fall in love with Bali after watching the movie; that’s for sure! Visit the traditional “warungs” while at Padang Padang “Warungs” are family owned businesses, such as wonderful open-air terraced restaurants, on top of a cliff. This is something you can find here at Padang Padang, and if you are staying for an entire day on the beach, then you don’t want to miss the sunset, viewed from the top of a cliff, while enjoying a light dinner.
One such facility is the Thomas Homestay high above on the cliff side, and the other one is Yeye’s Shop. The latter is a very nice gift shop and open air restaurant. Something you should definitely try here (if you are a seafood gourmet of course!) is the grilled fish made in banana leaves, which is an absolutely delicious Indonesian delicacy. Then, do not forget to drink a cool Bintang (specialty Indonesian beer). Or try out a Thai specialty, the chicken breast seasoned with basil, a spicy and aromatic delight for your palate! Yeye’s will be right on your way to or from the beach. You can try these specialties any time of day, whenever you get the munchies. One cultural spot every day While on your stay in Bali, you should always try to organize your day so that alongside fun days on the beach, you can also visit at least one important cultural spot. For instance, after a long day of swimming, building sand castles and drinking icy cold beer or cocktails at Padang Padang; you can visit Uluwatu’s temple that is not far away. The sunset viewed from here is a once in a lifetime experience. Every sunset is unique; do not miss this spot while on your stay here in
Bali!
Truly “Dreamland”
Jimbaran Bay Dreamland Beach Bali
Jimbaran Bay Dreamland Beach Picture this: golden stretches of sand meeting at the horizon with the azure waters and sky. Is this Paradise? Yes, it is another kind of paradise, the one you can find on Dreamland beach at Jimbaran Bay. It is a quiet spot, here you won’t find the turmoil of tourists and vendors like some of the more commercial spots of Bali such as Kuta or Sanur. If you want a day of relaxation, far away from the crowds, then Dreamland is your perfect choice. The beach was named by a famous surfer who was actually from Italy, and when he came here (around 30 years ago), and saw all the beauties of nature untouched and the majestic waves simply made for surfing, he thought of one word: Dreamland. Where to find Paradise?
Well, Dremland is located in the Jimbaran Area (southern Bali). The entire island of Bali is not that big, so it is quite improbable that you will get lost. If you are going with your rented car without an appointed chauffeur, then you just have to find your way to
Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural Park, more precisely the Garuda Statue. This is a very big and imposing statue symbolic for Hindu religion; there is no way you can miss it. From there, you are only minutes away from
Dreamland Beach Bali. You’ll arrive at the “end of the road”, that is at a cliff top. Just let your eyes travel downwards, and there you will spot true paradise: the immense ocean and the fine sand beach right below. It is time to tan, swim and have fun!

jimbaran bay dreamland beach
bali beaches
Don’t let yourself fooled by the new name Dreamland beach goes by nowadays, which is “New Kuta”. It actually has nothing to do with the overcrowded, busy hub of Kuta beach; it has only been given this name because soon it is going to be as famous as Kuta, and perhaps even more! So, you should get there and visit Dreamland while it does not turn into a commercial spot, and while you can still enjoy the relaxing, quiet atmosphere of a beach with only the waves splashing and the a few surfers doing their tricks on the almighty waves if the ocean. A few more tips… You can rent your parasols from Surya cafeteria, which is on your way down to the beach. These are necessary because they will protect you from the strong rays of the sun. Certainly there are many other places you can rent your parasols from; this was only a suggestion. Remember to pack your sunscreen; because once you see Dreamland, you will not be able to part with it. After tanning and sunbathing, you might want to explore the area, so carrying too much with you, might not be such a good idea. From here, you can easily walk to Balangan beach (surfer’s paradise), visit the Uluwatu cliffs and the Uluwatu sacred temple (located high above a cliff, it is one of the oldest traditional temples in the
Bali region).
The lush tropical forest beach
Jimbaran Beach Bali
Jimbaran Beach is a very famous tourist spot in Bali, and is located at a mere 45 minute drive from the Mia Villa complex. Jimbaran Bay has many sightseeing attractions to offer, among which are the Uluwatu cliff-side temple or the surfer’s paradise beach spots such as Padang Padang or Balangan. There is also a traditional village fish market that can be found here, which is the best place for a seafood gourmet. Just try out the famous mahi-mahi fish, a culinary experience you will never forget. There are many things to do on the beach, and many attractions around the area that will fill your day and make it perhaps the most exciting of all, during your stay at Bali. Because Australian surfers introduced the tradition
Indeed, the Australian professional surfers were the first (decades ago) that discovered the fact that Jimbaran beach is a perfect spot for surfing. The majestic waves here are simply excellent for surfing and other water sports activities. Even if you are not a professional surfer, you should try out one of the surf schools in the area, where you will learn the basics of surfing, so that you will not miss out on the adventure. These courses are not at all expensive, and you can go from beginner to intermediate in a matter of a few days. Just dare, get on those mighty waves, and control them! Time for original souvenirs On Jimbaran beach, you are going to find a shopper’s paradise. This is definitely the best place to buy your souvenirs from, so that you can take home original and charming gifts. For example, if you want high quality pottery items, don’t miss a visit to the “Jenggala” store. Here you will find beautiful hand painted vases, ceramics, and hundreds of other household items that get at true value. The store is owned actually by a professional pottery master couple, and they have been in the business for around 25 years now. If you want quality, Jenggala will give it to you.

Eating in Tuban area Some of the most famous restaurants and bars around Tuban include Daddy’s Café, the All Stars Surf Café, Musro, and the Golden Lotus. If you want a taste of real traditional food, then you should not skip the “warungs” (street and market food establishments, family-owned businesses) that you can find near the beaches or in busier marketplaces in the area. Visit Kartika Plaza in Tuban, more specifically the “Kebab Palace” there, if you want a real taste of traditional Turkish and Greek Cuisine (delicious kebab and souvlaki treats at very reasonable prices). For a modern restaurant setting, that serves traditional Indonesian food, choose Batan Waru restaurant in Tuban. The fish grilled in banana leaves with peanut sauce seasoned with chili, is a heavenly treat you do not want to miss!

The black volcanic sand beach
Sanur Beach Bali
Silvery white sandy beaches are the finest in the world, but black volcanic sand beaches are a rarity and they provide a unique experience. Sanur is a traditional village, and you are going to experience a beachfront and a village that offers tradition intertwined with modernism. There are many places in Sanur where you can watch theatrical and dance performances that are specific to Balinese culture, but you can also indulge in having your dinner at luxurious and modern restaurants. We could call Sanur the tourist paradise with two faces: one traditional and one contemporary. Experience leisure and sports
There are plenty of water sports activities in
Bali Sanur Beach, which will keep your day busy at the beach. Swimming here is a fantastic experience thanks to the clean, cool and calm waters. Sanur beach is also the place to be if you have small kids with you, as the water is simply perfect for them too. The waves are safe, and the temperature of the water is pleasant; if you want a one day special beach outing with your family, Sanur should be your choice. If you like to explore, then you should know of a tiny secret: go down south of Sanur, to Sindhu beach, and here you will find a wonderful blue lagoon waiting for you! Because of the clean waters and diverse underwater life, snorkeling is yet another favorite activity. When you have had enough of sunbathing and surfing and diving, you should start your journey of cultural exploration. History is a part of us all, and it would be a pity not to dedicate at least half a day for visiting all the wonderful landmarks here in the area. The Le Mayeur Museum is a very famous museum where impressionist Adrian Jean Le Mayeur has several paintings exhibited. He was a painter who simply fell in love with the wonderful island of Bali, and actually decided to live the rest of his life here. A spot you are not allowed to miss when you come to Sanur. The Santrian Gallery is actually an open air gallery exhibiting wonderful pieces of sculpture and painting. Finally, yet importantly, the Seiki Torige Gallery is an open-air pottery gallery, where you are going to see some world class pieces on exhibition. As you can see, Sanur indeed has it all;
the perfect oasis for a family outing
the place where you can relax and swim in the azure ocean all day long
the place where you can indulge in extreme sports activities
the little land of great cultural wonders: it has 2 major open air galleries, and one world class museum establishment.
The quiet and peaceful beach
Sindhu Beach Bali
Located not too far away from the famous and more crowded Sanur beach, Sindhu is the perfect little spot to relax and enjoy a perfectly tranquil day at the beach. The water is perfect for swimming, and the black sand will give that pampering feeling to the soles of your feet. Certainly, when you come to Bali with friends, you just yearn for the crowded atmosphere, for the beach clubs and bars, for the frantic surfers going up and down the waves and lots of people around you. But you can quickly wish you were on a deserted island, where you can just relax peacefully by listening to waves breaking on the shore while reading your favorite book, or just picking shells. When you arrive at that point, Sindhu beach is the perfect location. If you are staying at the Mia Villa Resort, it will take you around an hour to get there. If you want sports action…
Here at Sindhu beach you can keep fit for sure, because there are several sports activities that are offered to you. You can catch a game of beach volley with your friends, or why not make new friends by joining a game. The sand is perfect for this sport, and afterwards you can relax and have a nice cold drink at one of the beach bars not so far away. Other than that, you can also find open air tennis courts or you can take golf lessons as well; sports fanatics can definitely find their place at Sindhu beach. Water activities include diving, surfing or even snorkeling. Families with little children You may already know how it can be traveling with some rucksacks and two little children on crowded beaches full of vendors and tourists. These are no places for when you are with your little ones, especially if you wish to spend a serene day where you can relax too.

Bali Sindhu beach is perfect for a family outing, and if you have little kids, they will feel very joyful here. The waters are quite calm and warm, so you can take them for a nice splash in the ocean. Then, here you can also make up family activities, such as picking shells, building sand castles (the sand is particularly good for that in Sindhu!), or simply tanning in the sun. Don’t forget to rent parasols and have sunscreen for the entire family. You will love the tranquil atmosphere here at Sindhu. Snorkeling can be yet another activity that the little ones can be engaged in; just make sure to rent or buy proper equipment, and have some shallow water snorkeling fun for the entire family. There are also some very good conditions for fishing at Sindhu; again, an activity that can be enjoyed by the entire family. One such eventful day at the beach, and the kids will get to sleep very quickly; and you can watch the sunset and go for a nice dinner in one of the open terraced restaurants here. What a perfect day!
The diver’s coral kingdom
Nusa Penida Bali

Even if some of your family or friends are not into scuba diving, they can surely spend a pleasant day on Nusa Penida sunbathing and swimming in the clear blue waters. You also need to pack all the necessaries for the entire day, such as food and refreshments, as Nusa Penida is a less developed tourist-ready spot. You will certainly find a few traditional “warungs” where you can buy local delicacies, but in this part of paradise you are not going to find luxury restaurants. Actually, Nusa Penida is the biggest of a formation of three islands, the other two being Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Diving in Nusa Penida will immerse you into a world of around 300 different species of coral and around 600 species of colorful fish. Crystal Bay – the perfect beach on
Nusa Penida Bali Beach
If you want a place where you can relax and have a quiet day, just diving, snorkeling, sunbathing and setting up a nice picnic in the afternoon with your family, Crystal Bay is your top choice here on Nusa Penida. To get there, you need to go through Sakti (which is a small traditional village), and take the road to the west from there. Just ask around for directions if you are not on a guided tour, there is no way you can get lost here on Paradise Island. Later, when you are done scuba diving, you can pack up and go visit the Sebuluh Waterfall, which is not far away from the village of Batu Madeg. Alternatively, you can visit the Puncak Mundi temple which located high up on a cliff, in the Mundi Hill region here in Nusa Penida. The hill is actually the highest point on the island, some 500+ meters above the sea level. Who said there aren’t plenty of amazing things to do and see on a tiny secluded island? The best diving locations on the island… Well, there is quite a huge selection of amazing diving sites here on Nusa Penida. Some of these include Malibu Point, Toyapakeh, Lembongan Bay, Sampalan Dive, or SD Point and Suana Bay. There are several well established diving schools available here, one of which is the MM Diving center in Toyapakeh, and the World Diving Centre is actually located on the neighboring island of Nusa Lembongan.
The rich aqua blue island
Nusa Lembongan Bali Beach
In Nusa Lembongan, you are going to see the bluest water you have ever experienced. The waters are so clear and an unbelievable deep aqua color; you will most probably spend at least an hour just delighting your visual senses over the wide ocean here. The island of Nusa Lembongan is situated on the Southern coast of Bali, and you can reach it from nearly every point in Bali by boat. For example, if you stay at Mia Villa, you can take a nice two hour long trip by boat to arrive at Nusa Lembongan.
Tourism is usually about crowded beaches with youngsters splashing and surfing the waters, babies crying, families eating at the beach, club terraces and vendors inviting you to buy colorful kites and beach balls. So what would you say if you could go to a more secluded place, where there are plenty things to see and do, but still, stay far away from the chaotic overcrowded beaches?
Next stop:
Nusa Lembongan Bali Beach. Crashing waves on cliff sides and deep purple-orange sunsets. Is this heaven? Yes, it is a sort of heaven on earth. Nusa Lembongan is very famous for its coastal cliffs surrounded by the immense ocean. And the wonderful sunsets you can admire here are almost supernatural experiences. For those of you that appreciate natural beauty, Lembongan is the perfect place to be. Nusa Lembongan is proud to present to you…

Its amazing beaches! Three of the most popular beaches here are Dream Beach, Tamarind and Sunset beach. On Dream Beach you will find a very smooth and fine white sand that will pamper your feet while you walk. Dream beach is a fine place for spending your time on the beach, watching the waves dancing their way to shore. Only well trained swimmers should venture into the sea here, because it does have some strong currents. Dream Beach invites you to a wonderful Robinson Crusoe style open air café, where you can relax for a few moments. Sunset beach is the same panorama, but here when the tides go low, you can actually have access to a cave in the cliffs. The waves here on Sunset beach crash dramatically onto the cliff sides, and this should make for a wonderful viewing experience. Another wonderful beach on the island is Devil’s Tear, which according to its suggestive name, is a beach where the crashing waves are purely devilish in their nature. Main Activities: long walks, scuba diving and snorkeling Nusa Lembongan has many spots with clear blue water, which definitely invite everybody to enjoy snorkeling. Just watch the colorful reef life unraveling beneath you! For those of you more into adventure, there are many scuba diving sites and there are also many diving schools in the area that will teach you professional diving or guide you through the process. You can catch a glimpse of the spectacular mola-mola, also known as the “ocean sunfish”, which is the heaviest boned fish in the world (~ 1,000 kg); or, swim along the famous manta ray fish and watch the colorful reef underwater life.

Snorkeling is usually a much loved activity for the entire family, because with just a little guidance, children can enjoy the amazing underwater life as well. Scuba Diving in Blue Lagoon There are several diving sites in Padang Bai, but Blue Lagoon is by far the best place to admire the diverse underwater life. Here you can admire the wide stretch of Staghorn corals, and the amazingly diverse fish life. Here you can also catch a glimpse of the huge humphead wrasse, which also goes by the name Napoleon wrasse. It is around 1.5 to 2 meters long, and its huge lips make this fish look quite funny. It is definitely a wonderful adventure to swim along the immense humphead wrasse at the Blue Lagoon. Some other interesting fish species you can see here are the stargazers, the colorful scorpionfish, the rays and the blue ribbon eel which is categorized as being a very elegant fish due to its soft waving movements and its thin and elongated body shape. There is a true colorful aquarium that you can admire here at the Blue Lagoon. You will notice many photographers as well, who have come for the amazing sights that this place offers. If you want to be part of a truly amazing experience, then you should book your trip so that you can stay for the night, and try out an organized scuba diving trip at night. It is an experience you will never forget from

Padang Bai’s White
White Beach Bali
Padang Bai has actually two famous and wonderful beaches: one is the Blue Lagoon Beach, and the other is White Beach, called Bias Tegul Beach. With the public ferry to Lombok you will quickly be able to delight yourself with the wonderful sights unraveling in front of you here at White Beach. Where does its name come from? Certainly from the smooth, immaculate white soft sand that covers the beach of Tegul. There are plenty of sports activities you can be a part of here, but you can also just sit lazily in the sun, take a splash in the water and then relax again. White Beach cannot be compared to the tumultuous beaches of the South where you barely have space to breathe. These are good for when you are in the mood to be surrounded by many people and loud noises, but White Beach is the ultimate place for relaxation.
How to get there? If you choose you take your refreshments at Bamboo Paradise in Padang Bai, then immediately on the left side from this café you will find the road to White Beach. Just make sure you do not miss the sign saying “Bias Tegul”, which is White Beach. There will be a little bit of climbing up the steep hill; therefore it is a good idea to keep your luggage light, containing only the necessary things. After walking a few meters up the hills, in order to get to this secluded spot, you will also need to go down again. While going down the hill and reaching the beach, Mount Agung will rise opulently in front of your eyes. What scenery! A wonderful diving site

If you are lucky enough, you can also catch a glimpse of an ocean sunfish (or the mola-mola) that might be wandering the deep seas here at White Beach. Other activities to enjoy You can have a nice swim here on White Beach; however, the currents might be strong at times, so you should swim carefully. Given the fact that the sand is so smooth and comfortable here, you could have a nice game of beach volley with your entire family or friends. The place is also nice for a picnic, and if you haven’t brought your food with you, you can still buy some delicious bites from the warungs that are scattered here and there. Padang Bai in general offers many interesting tourist activities, and when you had enough of an entire day on the beach you can head towards the wonderful sacred temples in the area. The two tiny and secluded beaches of Padang Bai, the Blue Lagoon and White Beach will definitely mesmerize all your senses. Just explore the wonderful area of

After putting your surfing skills to the test and finishing off those long walks, you will definitely need some delicious food. At approximately 10 kilometers east of Madewi beach, there is a very famous restaurant, Tahu, offering local traditional food - their specialty is mainly Indonesian Cuisine. Sit down, admire the almighty ocean and have a nice refreshing drink and some local delicatessen bites. Closest sites of interest from Madewi beach? Well, at approximately 20km away there is the town of Negara (west of Madewi). Right outside of Negara, is where the famous buffalo races are held, (the so called Mekepungs) which are much loved activities by tourists. Then, halfway between Madewi beach and Negara there is a temple you could also visit, called Rambut Siwi. Although many tourists just pass through Negara, rather than enjoy it, you should definitely make a stop and admire all the beauties you can see here. Follow the road to Gilimanuk from Negara, and visit the famous anthropological museum Situs Purbakala. After this tiny cultural trip, you should jump on the ferry and visit the island of Java.
As you can notice, Medewi beach is a very good area to start your mini trip, especially if you want to make it meaningful. Not so far away, magnificent Java- the island of the ancient monuments and 120 volcanoes- waits for you!
The secluded spot of Bali
Seseh Beach Bali
Pantai Seseh beach is located nearby Canggu village, and it is a black volcanic sand beach. The beach is particularly famous for its water sport activities such as surfing, and it is also a popular spot for walking and admiring the wonderful coastal landscape. Once on Seseh beach, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a few hours of relaxation and tranquility. Some other neighboring beaches worth checking out are Echo beach and Pererenan. Where to go from
Seseh Bali Beach?

seseh beach
bali beaches
You can visit the village of Canggu, which is a little traditional village, and while it is in the vicinity of Seseh beach, it is also very close to Seminyak. But more on that a little bit later… Canggu is a special place filled with tradition, where you can see how true traditional Balinese people live. Watch the fishermen at work or the seaweed farmers on the beach early in the morning. The area is also very good for trekking, whether you go on guided trips or just take a map and begin your exploring journey.
Something exclusive worth checking out here is the Canggu Club- which is a private members club – where there are sports sessions, conferences, corporate events or family outing specials. The building itself is rather grand, built in colonial style and even if you drop in just for a short visit, it is still quite a visual experience! There is a very nice Kids Splash Pool operating here that the children will definitely adore, and regular swimming pools and gym facilities that you will love. The Umals Stables, the famous equestrian facility, is also nearby Canggu and Seseh Beach, so you should not miss out on it. Here you will find some wonderful stables inhabited by gorgeous horses, and you can even take riding lessons here- it doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or a pro- there is room for everybody. Perhaps a one day schedule to see all the tourist highlights in and around Canguu area may not even be enough. After spending your day on Seseh Beach or Echo beach… It is time to visit the sacred temple of Tanah Lot in the afternoon. Tanah lot is around a one hour drive from Seseh Beach, and driving through Seminyak. The temple is a magnificent Hindu building that lies on an offshore rock. From a distance, it gives the sensation that the temple is actually floating. The sunset viewed from here is one of the most wonderful experiences you can get on the entire island of Bali. You will notice yourself, that just when sunset time arrives, the place becomes an overcrowded site with awing tourists. For those of you who are photography enthusiasts and natural wonders in general, Tanah Lot is a spot you don’t want to miss.
